Call for volunteers to review foster care cases
Help out: Foster care review
Lexington Herald-Leader, Jan. 8, 2007.
The Fayette County Citizen Foster Care Review Board, created by state lawmakers to reduce the time children spend in foster care, is seeking volunteers to review cases of children placed in foster care because of dependency, abuse and neglect.
Volunteers help ensure that foster children receive the necessary services while in foster care and are placed in permanent homes as quickly as possible. Volunteers must complete a six-hour training session, and consent to a criminal record and central registry check.
The board meets every month at the Department for Community Based Services, 1165 Centre Parkway. Call Melissa Goins at (502) 573-2350, or 1-800-928-2350.
